ELON, N.C. - Elon University men's tennis won its third consecutive match on Saturday, April 2, defeating Norfolk State and Methodist, 7-0 respectively, at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center.
HIGHLIGHTS (SINGLES)

Daniel Martin led the charge for Elon in singles play, making quick work of Norfolk State's Ibrahim Abbas 6-0, 6-0 and Methodist's Quinn McNamara 6-1, 6-2 in straight sets. The wins moved Martin to 12-3 overall, 3-1 in the No. 2 slot and a perfect 8-0 in the No. 3 position this season. The sophomore has now won 11 of his last 12 matches.

Kyle Frankel also picked up two wins on the day, taking down Norfolk State's Federico Rebecchini 6-2, 6-3 to open the day before outlasting Methodist's Jordan Theron 6-3, 6-2 in No. 1 singles. With the wins, Frankel secured his seventh victory in the No. 1 slot and ninth overall this season.

Nicholas Condos clinched the match against Norfolk State, sweeping Roosevelt Brown 6-0, 6-0 in the No. 4 position. It marked the fourth win of the year for Condos and his second in the last three outings.

Chung-Han Tsai secured the second win of the day for Elon, defeating Luke Laney of Methodist 6-2, 6-1 in No. 3 singles. In the first match of the afternoon, Tsai earned a win by default in the No. 6 position. The performance moved Tsai to 6-4 overall this season and 1-0 in the No. 3 spot.

Camilo Ponce continued his strong play of late, outlasting Hugo Lena 6-4, 6-1 at No. 2. Ponce has now won three straight matches and holds a 5-4 overall mark this year.

Luke Queiroz logged his first singles win of the season against Methodist, taking down Brent Edwards 6-0, 6-1 in No. 5 singles. Queiroz now sits at 1-0 overall.

Joseph Dougherty earned his first collegiate singles victory versus Methodist, sweeping Jaben Hardin 6-0, 6-0 in the No. 6 spot. Dougherty currently holds a 1-1 overall record this season.

Ben Zipay posted his seventh victory of the season, taking home a 6-1, 6-2 decision over Methodist's AJ Rogers. The performance marked the seventh win in nine outings for Zipay and put him at 1-0 in No. 4 singles.

Nicholas Campbell's win by default in the No. 5 position of the match against Norfolk State rounded out the singles victories for the Phoenix and moved him to 9-7 on the year.
HIGHLIGHTS (DOUBLES)
- The combination of Martin and Tsai led the charge for Elon in doubles play, making quick work of Norfolk State's Rebecchini and Lena 6-0 in the No. 1 slot to clinch the doubles point. The combo then clinched the doubles point against Methodist's Theron and McNamara 6-3 in the afternoon. With the wins, the duo picked up its team-leading 11
th in doubles and its 10
th in the last 12 contests.
- The duo of Zipay and Dougherty got the ball rolling in doubles against Norfolk State, sweeping Abbas and Brown 6-0 in the No. 2 spot. The win marked the first for the pair and was the first doubles win of Dougherty's career.
- Frankel and Ponce won their doubles match by default against Norfolk State. It was the third in a row for the duo and fourth in its last five outings.
- The tandem of Zipay and Frankel completed the doubles sweep of Methodist, outlasting Laney and Murray 6-3 in the No. 2 position. The victory was the fifth in seven outings in a row for the combo as it now sits at 5-2 overall this season.
- Condos and Queiroz rounded out the doubles wins for the Phoenix on the day with a 6-0 sweep of Bitzberger and Rogers in the No. 3 position. It marked the first win of the season for the tandem.
