ELON, N.C.-- Elon University women's lacrosse will take on James Madison in Harrisonburg on Saturday, April 9 at 1 p.m.

THE SERIES
-The Dukes lead the overall series against the maroon and gold, 8-1.
-Elon earned its first-ever win against James Madison last season on March 7 (6-5).

ABOUT ELON­­
-The Phoenix enters the weekend with a 5-7 (1-1 CAA) record.
-Elon came up short in its last matchup against Towson on April 2 (20-8). Hannah McCarthy and Bridget Kelly led the maroon and gold scoring with two goals apiece. Kelly's goals marked a new career high.
-In goal, Paige Brown recorded nine saves for her highest single-game save count since the 2019 season when she tallied 12 at Virginia Tech.
-Through 12 games, Gillian Curran ranks first in the conference in draw controls per game (5.33) in addition to being fifth in both points per game (3.50) and assists per game (1.25).
-The Phoenix is led by ninth-year head coach Josh Hexter.  
 
SCOUTING JAMES MADISON
-The Dukes are 8-4 (2-0 CAA) on the season, ranking 11th in the nation in the latest weekly ILWomen/IWLCA Division I Poll.
-James Madison is currently on a five-game winning streak. Three of their victories were against nationally-ranked opponents, including No. 3 Maryland on March 26 (13-8).
-In the Dukes' most recent win against Hofstra (17-10), Isabella Peterson tied JMU's program records for goals (8) and points (10) in a game. The Dukes' 17 goals also marked its most against the Pride since April 14, 2017.
-For her performance against the Hofstra and Towson last week, Peterson was named both USA Lacrosse Magazine Division I Women's Player of the Week and the Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Week.
-The head coach of the Dukes is Shelley Klaes.
