GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Elon University women's tennis won all eight of its matches on Saturday at the UNCG Invite, as the Phoenix went 5-0 in singles and 3-0 in doubles.
Elon won all 10 of its singles sets, as Lizette Reding, Olivia Archer, Helen Sarikulaya, Miray Konar and Shauna Galvin all posted straight-sets victories. Konar and Sarikulaya are both 2-0 in singles at the UNCG Invite.
The Phoenix lost just four games in three doubles matches. Archer and Julie Ball defeated Gardner-Webb's Maria Jardim and Emilia Roslund 6-0, Allen and Reding earned a 6-1 win against Gardner Webb's Elise Semmartin and Campbell's Anna Head, and Sarikulaya and freshman Madison Cordisco won 6-3 against the Gardner-Webb team of Katie Watts and Cayline Le Grange. It was Cordisco's first career doubles victory.
Elon will conclude the UNCG Invite on Sunday. Play is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m.
