GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Elon University women's tennis team delivered another strong showing on Sunday as the team completed play at the UNCG Invite.
Miray Konar and
Helen Sarikulaya both improved to 3-0 in singles for the event with straight-sets victories. Konar defeated Gardner-Webb's Katie Watts 6-2, 7-5, while Sarikulaya lost just two games in a 6-1, 6-1 win over Tamsin Hart of Campbell.
Lizette Reding also won 6-1, 6-0 against Campbell's Veronika Prospalova for her second singles win of the weekend.
In doubles, Elon won three out of four matchups.
Olivia Archer and
Julie Ball teamed up for a 6-1 triumph against Campbell's Mariana Ossa and Lena Karlovcan,
Madison Cordisco and
Helen Sarikulaya won 6-2 against Eeva Ristola and Prospalova of Campbell, and the duo of
Miray Konar and
Lizette Reding posted a 6-0 victory against Campbell's Tamsin Hart and Anne-Marie Kopecka.
The Phoenix continues its fall season at the ITA Women's All-American Championships in Cary, N.C. The event is set for Oct. 1-9.
