Harris Has Career-Best Day Against Northeastern

ELON, N.C. – Sophomore middle blocker Lindsey Harris was the silver lining for the Elon University volleyball team in its second match of the weekend against Northeastern on Sunday.

Although the team fell in four sets, Harris put on a balanced display against the Huskies. She dominated at the net offensively and defensively, anchoring the Phoenix through the tight four-set battle.

Harris reached a career high in blocks and came one short of her career high of 10 kills, which she set last weekend. Her nine kills and eight blocks were also both team-highs.  After another strong performance, Harris, who finished the weekend with 16 kills, 10 blocks and nine digs, credited her teammates for setting her up to be successful.

"Our passing was really amazing today," Harris said. "Jordan [Gower] did great and I just had confidence every single time I went up that my center was going to give me a good ball and I could hit a rocket."

Harris has tallied at least seven kills in each of Elon's last three contests, the longest such streak of her career. Additionally, she has hit over .300 in each of those matches on 48 total attacks.

Harris and Elon will look forward to another pair of weekend CAA matches next Saturday and Sunday, when they travel to face the William & Mary Tribe.

"I'm very confident in this group considering every single time," Harris said. "We're getting better at something every time and every lineup we put out there is getting better"
