Elon, N.C. - The 16th Annual Night of the Phoenix, presented by Samet Corporation, took place Friday, Oct. 6 at Schar Center on the campus of Elon University. This year, more than 200 donors, parents, alumni, and friends came together to invest in student-athletes, amassing more than $450,000 in philanthropic support.  
 

"I have continuously heard from our coaches, staff, and student-athletes how amazingly generous and committed our community is in support of our student-athletes," Director of Athletics Jenn Strawley said. "To see that passion and enthusiasm firsthand during Night of the Phoenix was awe-inspiring and creates further confidence in my belief that our Elon family is ready to help Elon Athletics soar to new heights. I want to give a sincere thank you to all who came out in person and all who supported this initiative from afar. We truly appreciate all you do and it has a profound impact on our student-athletes."



Since 2008, this annual fundraising event has raised more than $3 million in support of scholarship resources that impacts and affects the lives of more than 400 student-athletes across 17 programs. This year's edition featured several adjustments focused on providing event attendees with an enhanced event experience and more opportunities to directly meet and interact with current Elon student-athletes. 

The evening started with a silent auction experience filled with incredible food and opportunities to interact with coaches, staff, and student-athletes, all while bidding on more than 270 silent auction items ranging from destination trips to fantastic tickets and sports experiences. The evening transitioned to Robertson Court, where an emotional and impactful 30-minute program touched on the importance of the student-athlete experience at Elon, a journey that would not be possible without the generosity of Phoenix Club supporters. The evening concluded with "Stand Up for the Phoenix" and a dessert reception which once again served as an opportunity for the gathered friends, alumni, and family members to spend time with Elon student-athletes.
