Weber Named CAA Runner Of The Week

Senior Paced Elon To Richmond Invitational Crown

RICHMOND, Va. – Elon senior Hannah Weber was named the Coastal Athletic Association Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday.

Weber earned the honor for the first time in her career after leading the Phoenix to the team title at the Richmond Invitational on Friday at Pole Green Park in Mechanicsville, Virginia.

The senior placed third overall out of 137 athletes in the women's 6K, crossing the line in 20:59.8. Weber was the first Elon runner to finish and helped the Phoenix place all five scorers inside the top 17.

Elon finished with 42 points, 35 ahead of both George Washington and host Richmond, to win its third consecutive meet to open the 2026 season.

The performance marked the first time Weber has led the Phoenix across the line this season. She has two additional top-five finishes and has placed among Elon's top four runners in each of the team's first three meets.

Weber becomes the third Elon women's runner to earn a CAA weekly honor this season. Abby Beville was named CAA Co-Runner of the Week following her victory at the Elon Opener, while Brynne Gordon earned co-runner honors after finishing second at the Queen City Invite.

Elon returns to competition Friday, Oct. 16, at the Princeton Fall Classic in Princeton, New Jersey.
