RICHMOND, Va. – Matthew Doyle has been chosen as the Colonial Athletic Association's Co-Men's Golfer of the Week, as announced by the league on Tuesday.
 
Doyle tied for seventh yesterday at the Ross Collegiate Classic in Southern Pines, N.C. The sophomore was one of 10 players to finish the tournament under par after carding a 2-under 214 for the week. He led Elon and ranked No. 4 in the field in par-4 scoring average (4.00) and made eight birdies. The result was his fifth top-10 finish of the season and third straight.

This is the third time this season Doyle has earned the honor, as he previously won it on Nov. 2 and Feb. 15. 
 
Sharing the honor with Doyle is Delaware freshman Casper Nurpin, who tied for ninth at the Bash at the Beach on Tuesday. 
 
Elon finished in a tie for third at the Ross Collegiate Classic with a 4-over par 868. The Phoenix will return to the course on March 27-28 when it competes at the Aggie Invitational in Greensboro.
