HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. – Senior Annabelle Ackroyd earned her second runner-up and fourth top-six result of the season on Sunday at the Low Country Intercollegiate, helping the Elon University women's golf team finish alone in third place. Wofford hosted the tournament at the par-72, 6,009-yard Moss Creek Golf Club in Hilton Head Island, S.C.

FULL TEAM & INDIVIDUAL RESULTS
 
The event was shortened from 54 to 36 holes, as Saturday's second round was canceled due to inclement weather and poor course conditions,. 
 
Elon carded a 36-hole score of 629 to earn its fourth top-three result of the season. Quinnipiac won the tournament with a 43-over par 619 and UNC Asheville came in second with a 44-over 620. Quinnipiac's 14-over 302 in the final round was the lowest score of the weekend by four shots.
 
THE HIGHLIGHTS

• Annabelle Ackroyd signed for a final-round 77 to finish second, two shots behind UNC Asheville's Madyson Gold, who won the tournament with a 36-hole score of 148 (+4). Ackroyd birdied the par-4 13th hole on Sunday and finished the weekend tied for second in the field in par-4 scoring average (4.15). The senior's 26 pars were also the most in the field. 
• Ackroyd's runner-up was her second of the season, as she also finished solo second at the Boston College Intercollegiate on Sept. 26-27. The senior has finished in the top 10 in five of her seven tournaments this season. 
• With a tie for 17th, Svarin Yuenyong posted her second straight top-20 finish and her sixth top-20 in seven starts this season. Yuenyong made two birdies on Sunday and finished the weekend with a team-best three birdies. The senior also led the Phoenix in par-3 scoring average for the tournament (3.00). 
• Ashley Lafontaine earned her best result in her last four starts, as the freshman posted a 15-over par 159 to tie for 23rd place. Lafontaine was one of four players to birdie the par-4 10th hole on Sunday and led Elon for the event in par-5 scoring average (5.13). 
• Apple Ngamwong finished in a tie for 42nd place and Lotte Fox in a tie for 65^th place. Fox made one birdie on Sunday on the par-4 12th hole. 
• As a team, Elon ranked No. 2 for the weekend in par-3 scoring average (3.13). 
• Elon's 98 pars were the second most in the field behind Quinnipiac's 101. 
• The Phoenix has now finished in the top five in five of its seven tournaments this season. 

 
UP NEXT
Elon will compete in the Mimosa Hills Intercollegiate on April 2-4. It will be the team's final tournament before the Colonial Athletic Association Championship.
