Julia Dalmass was named Second Team All-CAA, while
Anna Hackett and
Jessie Penner were named to the CAA All-Rookie Team, as announced today by the Colonial Athletic Association.
Dalmass, a defender, started all 16 games for Elon in 2023 and ranked among Elon's top three in ground balls, caused turnovers and draw controls. Her 49 draw controls were the seventh-most in a single-season in program history and she added 25 ground balls and 11 caused turnovers. Her 25 ground balls in CAA play is tied for second-most in a season in school history and her 14 ground balls is fifth.
Dalmass twice recorded four ground balls in a game, doing so against both Stony Brook and William & Mary to close the season. She had three caused turnovers in the season opener against Old Dominion and has a season-high eight draw controls in games against Virginia Tech and Towson.
Hackett earned all-rookie honors at attack, finishing second on the team with 32 goals and 34 points and starting all 16 games. Her goal total ranks among the top 15 freshmen in the country and she broke Elon's program record with five consecutive hat tricks in March. Her 32 goals are the fifth-most by a freshman in program history. Hackett finished the year with seven games of at least three goals, posting a career-best four against VCU. She had three ground balls against Old Dominion and three caused turnovers against VCU. Hackett also earned CAA Rookie of the Week honors.
Penner also earned all-rookie honors after playing in all 16 games, starting 15 times at defense for the Phoenix. Her 27 ground balls tied for the second-most by a freshman in program history, her 25 draw controls were third and her 10 caused turnovers tied for fifth. Penner had a career-best five ground balls against Virginia Tech and three caused turnovers in a win at High Point. She added seven draw controls against East Carolina.
