BOWLING GREEN, Fla. – The Elon University men's golf team finished second after completing the final round of the Allstate Streamsong Invitational on Wednesday, Sept. 13.
The Phoenix posted a combined score of 284 (-8) in the final round at the par-73, 7,320-yard Streamsong Black Course at The Streamsong Resort. The maroon and gold finished the tournament at 26-under par with a three-round score of 850.
"It was a nice way to start the season," head coach
Don Hill said. "Our goal every week is to be in the final pairing with a chance to win and we did that. Obviously, we can find five or six shots over the course of three rounds we'd love to have back or do differently but that's the razor thin margin we deal with in our sport. Garrett and Matt continue to play incredible golf and Juan was truly remarkable today. Now it's time to go home and work on a few things and begin preparation for the JT Poston Invitational."
