BURLINGTON, N.C. – Graduate student Annabelle Ackroyd shot a 1-over par 72 in the final round to finish tied second at the Elon Invitational on Tuesday. The Elon University women's golf team also shared the runner-up title with UNCG after posting a 54-hole total of 868 (+16). Radford's Macy Johnson won the individual title with Radford taking home the victory with a 12-over par 864.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Annabelle Ackroyd was Elon's top finisher after she posted a final round 72 to tie for second in the individual standings. The graduate student shot two rounds of par or better on the tournament to bring home hardware.
- Ashley Lafontaine carded a 72 in the final round to move up two spots on the leaderboard and tie for fifth. Lafontaine finished with a 54-hole total of 215 (+2).
- Senior Lotte Fox fired a final round 73 to finish in a tie for 19th place.
- Annie Wu posted a 73 in the final round to finish tied for 26th moving up two spots on the leaderboard.
- Andrea Asmundsdottir tied her best round of the tournament with a 75 in the final round to finish tied for 45th.
- Sakura Kawakami made the biggest jump on the individual leaderboard, moving up six spots after she carded a final round 76 to finish in a tie for 60th.
- As individuals, Charlotte Scully and Apple Ngamwong finished with 54-hole totals of 236 to tie for 66th. Ngamwong shot her best round of the tournament with a 6-over par 77.
UP NEXT
The Phoenix will head to Milton, Mass. to compete in the Red Bandanna Intercollegiate hosted by Boston College on Sept. 25-26.
