Milton, Mass. – The Elon women's golf team finished third at the Red Bandanna Intercollegiate on Tuesday. Boston College hosted the event at the par-72, 6137-yard Championship Course at Blue Hill Country Club.
Elon shot a 15-over par 303 in the final round to finish with a 54-hole total of 913 (+49). Boston College won the tournament with a 33-over par 897 and Sacred Heart University placed second with a 37-over par 901.
HIGHLIGHTS
- After shooting her lowest score of the week with an even-par 72 in the final round, Annabelle Ackroyd moved up 12 spots on the leaderboard to finish tied for third. She finished the tournament with an 8-over par 224 to post her second top-10 of the season. She led the team in par-4 scoring (4.17) and pars (36). This is Ackroyd's fourth top-five finish in her last six starts.
- Ashley Lafontaine finished the tournament tied for eighth, carding a 10-over par 226. She led the team in par-5 scoring (4.75) and birdies (8).
- After carding three birdies in the final round, Lotte Fox moved 12 spots up on the individual standings to tie to 30th and finish with an 18-over par 234. Fox had a team best 3.25 par-3 scoring average.
- A 6-over par 78 in the final round moved Annie Wu five spots up the leaderboard to tie for 37th place. She tied for the second-most birdies on the team with six.
- Andrea Asmundsdottir placed in a tie for 45th after a final round 83, posting a 54-hole total of 239 (+23).
- As a team the Phoenix finished third in total birdies with 28.
