Iycez Adams Free Throw Clinches Win Over Hofstra, Completes CAA Road Sweep

HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. – An Iycez Adams free-throw with one second remaining, lifted the Elon University women's basketball team (7-12, 3-3) over the Hofstra Pride (7-9, 1-4) on Sunday afternoon to complete the CAA road sweep.

Adams and Maraja Pass led the Phoenix netting 12 points apiece. Adams went 5-for-10 from the field while Pass went 5-for-11 going 2-for-3 from the three-point line.

"We are super excited to pull off the road sweep. It was a great effort from everyone throughout the entire trip," said head coach Charlotte Smith. "Ice continues to be fire. She is totally committed to doing what we ask her to do. Her role is to be a walking double-double and she was able to do that again today. I am just super excited about the future of this team as we are finding ways to be successful even short-handed."
