LAST TIME THEY MET

•
UConn: Friday will be the fourth all-time meeting between Elon and UConn. The Phoenix holds a 2-1 advantage over the Huskies in a series dating back to 2005. Elon won the last matchup between the two school in 2021 with the maroon and gold coming away with a 1-0 victory in extras in Chapel Hill, N.C.
•
NC State: In state foes since 2004, the Phoenix and the Wolfpack have faced each other 24 times going into the weekend. NC State holds a 15-9 all-time advantage over Elon and has won three straight games in the series including a 11-3 win last season in Raleigh. The Phoenix and the Wolfpack are scheduled for one more game later this season on April 2 back in Raleigh.
LAST TIME OUT
• The Phoenix went 3-1 to open its 2024 campaign at its home tournament, the Elon Softball Classic, last weekend. Elon earned a pair of wins over Kent State while defeating Evansville in extras to close out the tournament.
• Elon swept the Golden Flashes in a twin bill on the first day of the tournament last Thursday. The Phoenix took a 9-6 decision in game one while holding off Kent State for an 8-7 victory in the nightcap.
• The Phoenix would be handed its lone setback of the weekend versus Miami (Ohio) on Friday. Elon held the early advantage in the contest, 7-1, but could not withhold a late-inning rally from the RedHawks to fall 15-8.
• The maroon and gold closed out the tournament with a 5-4 win in extras over Evansville last Saturday. Three times the Purple Aces took the lead over the Phoenix including going ahead 4-3 in the top of the eighth inning. Elon however responded each time to erase the deficit including
Allee Seering's two-run, walk-off home run in the bottom of the eight that sealed the win for the Phoenix.
