Elon, N.C.- The Elon Phoenix (11-17) found themselves leading 5-1 after two innings of play but could not hold on against the offensive-minded Wofford Terriers (19-8) Tuesday night. Wofford defeated Elon 15-9 at Latham Park.

Connor Offshack continued his impressive play with a 3-for-5 night at the plate including four RBIs and a triple.
Vince Fattore continues to find his early season form, finishing with a two-run home run. Â

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Hudson Narke made quick work of the Terriers in the first inning, sitting them three-up, three-down.
- Elon loaded the bases in the first inning but could not bring a run across.
- The Phoenix answered the first inning zero, with five runs to pull in front for the first time. After trailing 1-0, a Tanner Holliman double followed by a Vince Fattore two-run shot put the Phoenix ahead. Elon added to their lead following an RBI single from Connor Offshack. Alex Duffey then added another two runs following an RBI single of his own to stretch the Elon lead to four.
- Wofford would counter with four unanswered runs to tie the score going into the bottom of the fifth. Elon answered with a run of its own in the bottom of the fifth when Justin Szestowicki scored off an error by the Terriers.
- The Terriers put up seven runs in the top of the sixth to pull ahead of the Phoenix.
- Connor Offshack carried the offensive load the rest of the way for Elon by singling home a run and then tripling home two runs in the bottom of the eighth.
- The final score would read 15-9 in favor of Wofford.

NOTES AND STATS
- Hudson Narke made his second start for the Phoenix. Narke went 2.1 innings on the mound while allowing just one earned run.
- Liam Dabagian had a bounce back effort on the mound allowing a lone hit and striking out a batter over two innings of work.
- Carson Wehner put together his best performance as a Phoenix, allowing no hits and striking out a batter over 2.2 innings.
- Connor Offshack finished with a 3-for-5 day with his first career triple and four RBIs.
- Kenny Mallory Jr. added a multi-hit day of his own with two singles and two runs of his own and reached base three times in five plate appearances.
- Vince Fattore homered against the Terriers for his fourth of the season. Fattore is now tied for the team lead in homers with a number of other Phoenix.
- Tanner Holliman finished with a double while Justin Szestowicki hit a roping single to center.
- Shane Paradine saw his average creep over the .300 mark with a pinch-hit single in the eighth inning.
