ELON, N.C. – The Elon University men's and women's cross country programs announced their 2024 slate on Monday, Aug. 5, its first under new head coach
Mark Rinker.
The Phoenix opens the season with the first of two regular-season home meets, the Elon Opener, on Friday, Sept. 6. Following that meet, Elon travels to Cary, N.C., for the adidas XC Challenge on Sept. 20.
Both squads kick off the month of October at the ECU Pirate Invitational on Oct. 4 before hosting its second home meet of the regular season, the Phoenix Invitational, on Oct. 18. The very next day, select members of the Elon women's cross country team will compete at the NCAA Pre-Nationals in Madison, Wis., to close out the regular season.
Postseason competition of the schedule begins with the 2024 CAA Cross Country Championships, hosted at the Elon Cross Country Course on Nov. 1. It will be the first league meet on Elon's campus since 2017. Two weeks later, the Phoenix harriers will compete at the NCAA Southeast Regional in Rock Hill, S.C., on Nov. 15.
The 2024 schedule concludes with the NCAA Cross Country Championships on Saturday, Nov. 23 back in Madison, Wis.
