Elon, N.C.- Elon senior midfielder Scott Vatne was named to the United Soccer Coaches preseason Midfield Watch List announced by the association Friday.
 
Coming off back-to-back CAA First-Team selections, Vatne enters his senior year after consecutive 12-point seasons for the Phoenix in 2022 and 2023. He had a team high six assists in Elon's CAA regular season championship season while helping lead Elon to the NCAA Tournament. Last season, Vatne finished with a career high four goals, including two from the halfway line, helping the Phoenix reach the CAA Tournament semifinals.
 
Prior to last season, the Norwegian was named to the 2023 Hermann Trophy Watch List and earned an All-Atlantic Region nod following the season.
