SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Elon women's golf team secured its third top-five finish of the 2025 Fall season on Tuesday with a fifth-place effort at the Terrier Intercollegiate. Elon shot 44-over-par 908 (317-292-299) while senior
Ashley Lafontaine earned her third top-10 individual finish of the season by tying for eighth with a 9-over 225 (79-72-74).
ETSU (+27) won the team title, outpacing host Wofford (+33), UNC Asheville (+35), Appalachian State (+35) and the Phoenix.
Lafontaine was well on her way to her best round of the tournament with a 2-under score through 15 holes, but stumbled with a 4-over skid on her final three holes of the third round. The Phoenix's senior leader still took home her third top-10 effort of the Fall, having previously finished sixth at both the Elon Invitational and the Tot Hill Farm Invitational.
Emma Hansen carded a third-round 71 with birdies on holes 5 and 11 to overcome a bogey on 1. The strong finish resulted in her tying for 14th individually at 12-over (80-77-71 – 228).
Kelly Zhao (+13, 229) and
Annie Wu (+15, 231) tied for 16th and 19th, respectively, to give Elon four top 20 finishers.
