JACK ATTACK
Junior Phoenix
Jack Wieler is on a roll to start the 2025-26 season, averaging 69.66 strokes per round through two tournaments played. Wieler tied for third at the Myrtle Beach Golf Trips Intercollegiate with a 9-under 207 and followed that effort with a 1-over 211 and tie for 22nd at the JT Poston Invitational. An All-CAA selection each of the past two seasons, Wieler owns a career 71.94 strokes per round average through 68 total rounds played since the start of the 2023-24 season.
EARLY OPPORTUNITIES
The West Bay Collegiate Invitational is Elon's third of four Fall tournaments, providing the Phoenix another opportunity to build momentum for the Spring season ahead. Elon took fifth place at the season-opening Myrtle Beach Golf Trips Intercollegiate before stumbling with a ninth-place effort at the JT Poston Invitational.
THE NEW CAST
Much has changed in Elon's personnel department since the Phoenix captured its first CAA Championship last spring and advanced to the NCAA Bremerton Regional. While Wieler and senior
Landon Durham – who will make his season debut in Estero – will continue to anchor, five freshmen will make up the rest of the lineup at the West Bay Collegiate Invitational.
Drew Yeagley has stood out among the rookies, shooting even par or better and placing inside the top 18 individually in both tournaments.
IN THE DRIVER'S SEAT
Elon men's golf head coach Don is in his 12th year at the program's helm in 2025-26. Hill was honored as the 2024-25 CAA Coach of the Year following the Phoenix's impressive conference title win in New Jersey last April, in addition to six other top-five finishes during the season. With six total freshmen on the 10-man roster this year, Hill will look to blend Elon's mix of experienced and unproven as the four-tournament fall season continues.
