ST. THOMAS, U.S. Virgin Islands – Tyana Walker scored a season-high 22 points, but the Elon women's basketball team came up just short in a 64-61 loss to Tulane on Thanksgiving in its Paradise Jam opener at the UVI Sports & Fitness Center.

THE RUNDOWN
- Tulane opened on a 13-2 run before three straight threes by Ashanti Fox and Ashlee Shaw pulled Elon within 13-11 with 3:34 left in the first. The Phoenix later hit back-to-back threes to take an 18-17 lead, but the Green Wave scored late to go up 19-18 after one.
- Elon started the second quarter with an 8-0 run to build a 26-19 advantage, only for Tulane to counter with its own 8-0 spurt to move ahead 27-26 at the 6:09 mark. The Phoenix then held the Green Wave scoreless the rest of the half and carried a 35-27 lead into the break.
- Tulane scored first in the third and trimmed the deficit to 35-31 before tying it at 40-40. The Green Wave closed the period on a 16-4 run to take a 56-44 lead into the fourth.
- Elon responded with a 13-2 run, sparked by two more threes from Walker, to pull within 58-57 with 4:43 remaining. The teams traded baskets from there, with Walker hitting another three to put Elon ahead 61-60. But back-to-back Tulane buckets pushed the Green Wave back in front 64-61, and the Phoenix couldn't reclaim the lead.
