CHAPEL HILL – LaNae' Corbett scored a team-high 10 points and
Ashanti Fox added nine off the bench, but the Elon women's basketball team fell 71-37 at No. 11 North Carolina on Thursday night at Carmichael Arena.
THE RUNDOWN
- Elon opened the game strong, jumping out to an 8-5 lead behind early buckets from LaNae' Corbett and Quinzia Fulmore. North Carolina responded with an 11-4 run to take a 16-12 lead after one quarter.
- Ashanti Fox sparked the Phoenix in the second quarter with back-to-back three-pointers to pull within two at 20-18. The Tar Heels closed the half on a 9-2 run led by Ciera Toomey and Indya Nivar to take a 29-20 advantage into the break.
- The Tar Heels outscored Elon 30-9 in the third quarter behind transition baskets and second-chance points. An and-one from Maraja Pass and a Laila Anderson buzzer-beating three closed the quarter at 52-29.Â
- The Phoenix showed flashes of life late, but North Carolina's lead was too deep to overcome in the fourth quarter, as they took the 71-37 win.

- LaNae' Corbett reached double figures for the first time this season while grabbing a team-high six rebounds.
- Scoring was spread across the Phoenix, with eight of 11 players contributing points.
- Maraja Pass led the team in assists for the first time this season, adding two.
- Elon held North Carolina to 4-of-26 shooting from beyond the arc.
- Jayda Angel, LaNae' Cobrett, Quinzia Fulmore, Maraja Pass, and Tyana Walker started for the Phoenix.
