SAN DIEGO – Junior Simone Bergeron fell in her opening-round singles match at ITA Conference Masters on Thursday. The tournament is being played at the Barnes Tennis Center.

In her ITA Conference Masters debut, Bergeron lost to Bryant's Yahli Noy, 3-6, 1-6. Bergeron jumped out to an early 2-1 lead before Noy won five of the final six games to take the opening set. Noy, who was an All-OVC First Team selection in the spring, advanced to the second round of the main draw with the victory.

Bergeron will continue play tomorrow in the consolation singles draw. She will face Oakland's Martyna Piechowicz at 12 p.m. EST.
