GREENSBORO, GA. – The Elon University men's golf team and Garrett Risner secured a fifth-place finish at the Linger Longer Invitational on Tuesday, Mar. 18.

The Phoenix posted a tournament-low round of 284 (-4) in the final round, finishing with a 54-hole total of 856 (-8). Georgia claimed the team title with a 30-under-par 834, while Alabama finished second at 836 (-28).

HIGHLIGHTS  

• Garrett Risner led the Phoenix with a fifth-place individual finish, marking his second top-5 result this spring. He carded a 71 (-1) in the final round, recording three rounds of par or better.
• Jack Wieler fired a second consecutive even-par 72 to finish tied for 25th place.
• Matthew Doyle and Landon Durham each tied for 32nd place with a 1-over-par 217. Doyle posted his tournament-low round of 70 (-2) in the final round, highlighted by four birdies. Durham shot a 71 (-1) with a team-high 13 pars.
• Bronson Myers recorded an even-par 72 in the final round and tied for the team lead with Risner, sinking five birdies on the day.
