Box Score ELON, N.C. — The Elon women's basketball team (14-13, 8-8 CAA) wraps up its regular season this weekend with a pair of road matchups. The Phoenix will face Northeastern (2-23, 1-15 CAA) on Thursday, March 6, at 7 p.m., followed by a matchup against Monmouth (14-13, 9-7 CAA) on Saturday, March 8, at 2 p.m.

SERIES HISTORY

• Elon holds a narrow 9-8 edge over Northeastern in the all-time series.

• Elon went 1-1 last weekend, falling at Charleston before bouncing back with a 70-69 victory over CAA frontrunner North Carolina A&T on Sunday afternoon.
• Alyssa Ervin reached double figures for the second time this season at Charleston, leading the team with a career-high 12 points and adding a career-best three assists.
• Raven Preston led the team on the boards with six rebounds while Iycez Adams recorded a team-high two blocks against the Cougars.
• On Sunday, Preston erupted for a career-high 31 points, including a personal-best five three-pointers, leading the team in scoring for the 11th time this season. She also secured a team-high six rebounds.
• Preston became just the fifth CAA player this season to score 30 or more points in a game.
• Adams led the Phoenix with three blocks, while Laila Anderson contributed a team-best two steals.
• Ava Leroux and Maraja Pass each dished out a team-high five assists, marking a career-high for Leroux.
• Elon was nearly perfect from the free-throw line, going 19-for-20 (95%), marking their best single-game free-throw percentage since the 2010-11 season (minimum 20 attempts).
• The Phoenix dominated in key areas, outscoring the Aggies in points off turnovers (24-14), blocks (6-0), steals (7-5), and offensive rebounds (8-6).

ELON IN THE CAA

• Raven Preston ranks fourth in the CAA in rebounds per game (8.6), seventh in steals per game (1.9), and 13th in points per game (12.2).
• Iycez Adams sits sixth in the conference in blocks per game (1.3).
• As a team, Elon ranks second in free-throw percentage (71.5%), third in the CAA in steals per game (9.22) and fourth in offensive rebounds per game (12.9).
• The Phoenix is one of only two teams in the conference to record double-digit blocks in a game this season.

JAYDA'S ANGELS

• Freshman Jayda Angel has earned five CAA Rookie of the Week honors so far in the 2024-25 season.
• Angel matched her career-high with 20 points against Campbell, leading the team off the bench for the eighth time this season.
• Angel contributed 10 points and four rebounds in Elon's win at UNCW.
• Angel led the team in scoring for the seventh time this season, finishing with 14 points, six rebounds, and two steals against the Tribe.
• Angel tied for the team-lead with nine points and five rebounds against Drexel.
• Angel led the Phoenix in scoring off the bench with 14 points in the win over Delaware, also matching her season-high with four assists to pace the team.
• Angel was named CAA Rookie of the Week for the fourth time this season after an outstanding weekend, averaging 11.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 2.5 steals in Elon's victories over Stony Brook and Hofstra.
• Jayda Angel recorded her eighth double-figure scoring performance of the season with 14 points against the Pride, along with six rebounds, three assists, and two steals.
• In the team's win over Stony Brook, Angel led the team with nine rebounds and three steals.
• Jayda Angel provided a spark off the bench, leading the team with 15 points in the win over Hampton. She also contributed four rebounds, two assists, and a steal.
• Angel scored 14 points, going 7-for-11 from the field, while adding seven rebounds and two steals against the Tribe.
• Angel reached double figures for the fifth time this season, scoring 11 points and leading the Phoenix defensively with three steals in the win over Lees-McRae.
• Angel delivered an impressive performance in the team's win at Long Beach State, scoring nine points—including the game-winning basket—and contributing eight rebounds.
• Angel tallied 12 points shooting 4-for-9 from the field while also adding nine rebounds, two assists and a steal in the team's win over Longwood.
• Angel notched her first career 20-point performance against Elon's first Power Four matchup of the season.

SCOUTING NORTHEASTERN

• Northeastern holds a 2-23 overall record and a 1-15 mark in CAA play, most recently falling to William & Mary and Hampton last weekend.
• The Huskies finished last season 10-17 overall and 5-13 in CAA play, placing 11th in the conference.
• Northeastern was projected to finish 13th in the 2024-25 CAA Preseason Poll.
• Abby Jegede leads the team and ranks second in the conference, averaging 16.3 points per game.
• Yirsy Queliz also averages double figures with 11.6 points per game and contributes a team-best 3.1 assists per game.
• Alyssa Staten leads the team with 8.1 rebounds per game and has recorded 10 blocks this season.

SCOUTING MONMOUTH

• Monmouth enters the weekend at 14-13 overall and 10-3 in conference play, falling to Drexel before defeating Stony Brook.
• The Hawks finished last season 22-10 overall and 14-4 in the CAA, securing second place in the league before falling in the CAA Quarterfinals and advancing to the WNIT second round.
• Monmouth was projected to finish 10th in the 2024-25 CAA Preseason Poll.

• Monmouth tops the league with 4.70 blocked shots per game and is second the CAA in field goal percentage at 41.4 percent.
