Women’s Basketball Closes Regular Season At Northeastern, Monmouth

Box Score ELON, N.C. — The Elon women's basketball team (14-13, 8-8 CAA) wraps up its regular season this weekend with a pair of road matchups. The Phoenix will face Northeastern (2-23, 1-15 CAA) on Thursday, March 6, at 7 p.m., followed by a matchup against Monmouth (14-13, 9-7 CAA) on Saturday, March 8, at 2 p.m.

SERIES HISTORY
  • Elon holds a narrow 9-8 edge over Northeastern in the all-time series.
  • The Phoenix split with the Huskies last season, falling at home 51-46 before earning a 53-37 road victory on Feb. 16, 2024.

LAST TIME OUT
  • Elon went 1-1 last weekend, falling at Charleston before bouncing back with a 70-69 victory over CAA frontrunner North Carolina A&T on Sunday afternoon.

  • Iycez Adams sits sixth in the conference in blocks per game (1.3).
  • As a team, Elon ranks second in free-throw percentage (71.5%), third in the CAA in steals per game (9.22) and fourth in offensive rebounds per game (12.9).
  • The Phoenix is one of only two teams in the conference to record double-digit blocks in a game this season.
JAYDA'S ANGELS
  • Freshman Jayda Angel has earned five CAA Rookie of the Week honors so far in the 2024-25 season.
  • Angel matched her career-high with 20 points against Campbell, leading the team off the bench for the eighth time this season.
  • Angel contributed 10 points and four rebounds in Elon's win at UNCW.
  • Angel led the team in scoring for the seventh time this season, finishing with 14 points, six rebounds, and two steals against the Tribe.
  • Angel tied for the team-lead with nine points and five rebounds against Drexel.
  • Angel led the Phoenix in scoring off the bench with 14 points in the win over Delaware, also matching her season-high with four assists to pace the team.
  • Angel was named CAA Rookie of the Week for the fourth time this season after an outstanding weekend, averaging 11.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 2.5 steals in Elon's victories over Stony Brook and Hofstra.
