Overland Park, KS.- Ryan Sprock was both awarded the John Olerud Two-Way Player of the Week Award and recognized to the 2025 John Olerud Two-Way Player Of The Year Award Watchlist Tuesday by the College Baseball Hall of Fame.
"We are excited to shine a spotlight on the best two-way players in the nation with the release of our 2025 John Olerud Two-Way Player Watch list," said George Watson, chairman of the John Olerud Two-Way Player of the Year selection committee. "This year's list features a 2024 finalist and many other talented two-way players within college baseball "These outstanding players are integral to their individual team's success on the mound and at the plate. We look forward to watching each of them as the 2025 season continues."
Sprock earned the award for his performances this past week against both #12 North Carolina and Towson. The junior got it done from both sides of the ball this past week as he collected his first save of the season on the mound against Towson and finished his week 7-for-14 (.500) at the plate with two home runs, six runs scored and four RBI.
The Morristown, N.J. native is enjoying his best season at the plate so far this season. Sprock enters the week with a .346 batting average and 20 extra-base hits, good for second in the CAA. Sprock's two home runs this past week bring him to six on the season, tied for the club lead.
On the mound, Sprock has been one of the top arms out of the Phoenix bullpen. Sprock currently sits at a 3.68 ERA with a team low, 0.82 WHIP. He earned his first win of the season against Charleston and collected his first save of the season in Elon's series clinching win over Towson.
Sprock and the Phoenix will match up against UNCG later tonight at Latham Park. First pitch with the Spartans will be at 6 PM.
