Richmond, Va.- Following his stellar four-game stretch, junior INF/RHP
Ryan Sprock was awarded the CAA Player of the Week award, announced by the conference on Monday.
For the first time in his career,
Ryan Sprock earns the top CAA weekly honor. Over four games, the utility man was elite on the mound and in the batter's box. Over four games, Sprock was 9-for-15 (.600) at the plate and made two scoreless relief appearances in Elon's 4-0 week.
Sprock got his week started with what could be the finest game of his career in the maroon & gold. Against Elon rival High Point, Sprock finished 4-for-5 at the plate with a home run, double, three runs scored and four RBI in Elon's 12-11 win. Not only that, but Sprock struck out a pair of batters and delivered the save in Elon's victory over the Panthers.
Against the Aggies, Sprock hit .500 in the sweep over A&T. He finished the series with five hits, five runs scored, a home run and four RBIs in Elon's first CAA sweep of the season. Sprock currently sits second on the team in batting average at .360 and leads the team in both home runs (9) and slugging percentage (.622).
Sprock and the Phoenix will match up against ECU his Tuesday at Latham Park. First pitch with the Pirates will be at 6 PM.
