ELON, N.C. – The Elon University women's soccer team announced its 2025 fall schedule on Monday, July 7. The Phoenix will play 17 regular season contests, including eight at Rudd Field. Elon will host four CAA matches at home along with four non-conference opponents.
Following an exhibition against USC Upstate on Aug. 3, Elon kicks off its regular season in Richmond against VCU on Aug. 14. The Phoenix will then return to Rudd for a pair of home games, beginning with its home opener versus VMI (Aug. 17), followed by a matchup with Gardner-Webb (Aug. 24).
Isa Murdock scored the game-winning goal with just six minutes remaining at Gardner-Webb last season to seal a 2-1 Elon victory.
Elon hits the road to play a pair of North Carolina teams to close out August, with non-conference matches at Queens (Aug. 28) and High Point (Aug. 31). The Phoenix will then host ACC foe NC State on Sept. 4, the first meeting between the teams at Rudd since 2022.
After a road test at George Mason on Sept. 7, the Phoenix will close out its non-conference slate at home against South Carolina State on Sept. 10. Elon then opens CAA play with three consecutive road matches against Hofstra (Sept. 18), reigning conference champion Stony Brook (Sept. 21) and William & Mary (Sept. 27).
The Phoenix will host UNCW in its first CAA home match on Oct. 2 before traveling to Buies Creek for a clash against Campbell on Oct. 5. That will be followed by another conference road game at Hampton on Oct. 12.
Elon closes the regular season with three straight home matches at Rudd, beginning on Oct. 16 against Drexel. The Phoenix will then face Towson on Oct. 19 before wrapping up its campaign versus College of Charleston on Oct. 26.
This will be the first season the CAA will feature two divisions for women's soccer. Elon will compete in the South Division alongside Campbell, Charleston, Hampton, UNCW and William & Mary and play each of these teams once. Additionally, the Phoenix will face four teams from the North Division – Hofstra, Stony Brook, Drexel and Towson. All nine matches will count toward the standings.
The top three teams in the North and South division at the conclusion of the regular season will qualify for the CAA Championship, which will be played over two weekends. The No. 2 seed in each division will host the No. 3 seed on the first weekend, with the winners moving on to face the No. 1 seed in each division. The highest remaining seed will then host the championship match on the second weekend. If both teams have the same divisional seed, the team with the most points in the regular season will host.
The Phoenix is coming a stellar 13-4-1 campaign in 2024 that included a 7-4 mark in CAA play. Elon advanced to the semifinals of the CAA Championship before being knocked out by eventual champion Stony Brook.
