RICHMOND, Va. – Elon sophomore goalkeeper Katie Bisgrove was named CAA-Co Defensive Player of the Week on Monday, as the conference unveiled its first weekly women's soccer awards of the season.

Bisgrove, a preseason All-CAA honoree, started both of Elon's games in goal during the opening week. Against VCU in the Phoenix's season opener, she matched her career high with eight saves, six of which came in the second half of a 1-1 draw. She previously notched eight saves last season against Towson.

Bisgrove then anchored a clean sheet for the Phoenix in a 4-0 victory versus VMI on Sunday. She played the full 90 minutes in goal to reach 6.5 career shutouts.

For the week, Bisgrove finished with eight saves and a .889 save percentage. It is the sophomore's second conference weekly award, as she was selected CAA Rookie of the Week on Sept. 23, 2024.

The Phoenix returns to the pitch on Sunday for a match against Gardner-Webb. Kickoff at Rudd Field is scheduled for 7 p.m.
