The William & Mary Series
  • Elon is 5-7-3 all-time against the Tribe but has won or tied in the four most recent matches in the series.
  • The Phoenix defeated William & Mary last year on Oct. 5 at Rudd Field, 2-1. Scott Vatne and Petro Klishch scored first-half goals and the Phoenix held on in the second half for the victory.
  • Elon's last road trip to Williamsburg came on Nov. 6, 2021, with the Phoenix winning, 2-1. The Phoenix is 2-4-1 in its seven road games against the Tribe.
  • Since joining the CAA, Elon is 4-3-3 versus the Tribe.
  • Elon's last three victories against William & Mary have come by a 2-1 score.

The Longwood Series
  • Elon holds a 2-0-1 edge against Longwood. Tuesday will be the first meeting between the teams since 2009.
  • This will be Elon's second trip to Longwood and first since Sept. 3, 2003. The Phoenix won that match, 1-0.
  • The other two meetings between the Phoenix and Lancers came at neutral sites.

Last Time Out
  • Elon shut out Davidson, 2-0, on Tuesday at Rudd Field for a fifth straight victory and fourth consecutive clean sheet.
  • Elon earned a penalty kick in the sixth minute when Dominik Renz was tackled in the box by a Davidson defender. Martin Kozak took the penalty for the Phoenix, burying it in the lower left corner for the game's first goal.
  • The Phoenix added a second goal in the final minute of the first half. After winning the ball on the end line, Connor Mucchetti lifted it back toward the top of the box toward an open Oscar Tonidandel, who knocked it out of the air and toward the goal. The ball rolled to the right goal post and bounced into the net with 27 seconds left for Elon's second goal of the contest.
  • The Phoenix limited Davidson to just two shot attempts in the second half, the second of which came in the 89th minute, an effort that Jackson Leavitt easily corralled to help put the finishing touches Elon's clean sheet.
  • Kozak's goal was Elon's first on a penalty kick this season. Kozak took Elon's only other attempt of the season at Radford on Sept. 2. The penalty kick goal was the first for Elon since Scott Vatne converted against Northeastern on Oct. 26, 2024.
  • Mucchetti delivered an assist on Tonidandel's goal, his second straight match with a helper.
  • Leavitt made three saves for his fourth straight shutout victory.
  • Majaliwa MsabahaWeston Jonke and Magnus Jacobsen all logged the full 90 minutes for the Phoenix. It was Jonke's first time playing a full match this season.

Renz The Rookie
  • Renz has quickly emerged as one of Elon's top offensive producers in his debut campaign with the Phoenix.
  • The redshirt sophomore leads the team with seven points (3g, 1a) and has scored points in four of the last five matches entering Saturday.
  • All three of Renz's goals this season have been game-winning tallies, including two against CAA opponents UNCW and College of Charleston. He ranks No. 2 in the conference in game-winning goals, trailing only Hofstra's Laurie Goddard (4).
  • Renz took home back-to-back CAA Rookie of the Week honors on Sept. 1 and Sept. 8, becoming the first Elon player to win the weekly honor twice in a season since Scott Vatne in 2021.
  • Renz has scored on three of his seven shots on goal this season. He has made three starts in six matches, including Elon's most recent outing against Davidson.

Kozak Contributing
  • Kozak netted his first goal with Elon on Tuesday against Davidson, converting on a penalty kick in the sixth minute for the game's first tally.
  • Kozak leads the Phoenix with three assists through the first six games this season, all of which he has started.
  • The St. John's transfer assisted on both of Elon's goals Aug. 30 at UNCW in a 2-1 CAA victory.
  • Kozak is one of three Elon players, along with Mucchetti and Colin Veltri, with multiple assists on the season and has contributed on four of Elon's eight goals as a team.
  • Kozak is tied for the third most assists among CAA players, trailing only Monmouth's Jakob Friedman (6) and Drexel's Morgan Worsfold-Gregg (4).

Connor and Colin
  • Mucchetti and Veltri assisted on three of Elon's four goals during its three-game homestand.
  • Veltri delivered the primary assist on Renz's goals against College of Charleston and USC Upstate, both of which were 1-0 victories for Elon.
  • Mucchetti had the secondary assist on Renz's goal against the Spartans and then posted the primary assist on Tonidandel's goal Tuesday versus Davidson.
  • Veltri and Mucchetti are tied for second on the team with two assists. They trail only Kozak (3) for the team lead.
  • Mucchetti has started all six games this season and played 494 minutes, the second most by any Elon position player. Veltri has appeared in all six matches and leads the Phoenix with 18 shot attempts.

Defense, Defense, Defense
  • Elon has allowed just one goal through its first six games. The Phoenix has posted five clean sheets on the season, including four straight.
  • The Phoenix has allowed five fewer goals than the next best CAA team. Elon's 0.17 goals against average leads the conference and ranks top 10 nationally.
  • Leavitt has played every minute in goal this season for the Phoenix. He has made 15 saves and ranks top 10 nationally in both save percentage and goals against average.
  • Leavitt and Elon are currently on a shutout streak of 289:07 of game time.
  • Msabaha has logged all 540 minutes for Elon this season. Carlos Levy (464) and Magnus Jacobsen (426) have also surpassed 400 minutes on Elon's backline.
  • Elon has allowed just one of its first six opponents to reach double digit shot attempts in a game.

Receiving Votes
  • Elon received three votes in Tuesday's United Soccer Coaches top 25 poll, its first time earning votes this season.
  • The Phoenix was the only CAA team to receive votes in this week's ranking.
  • Three of Elon's next six opponents are ranked in the top 25 – UNCG (No. 21), Clemson (No. 14) and Duke (No. 19).

Defending Regular Season Champs
  • Elon is coming off its second regular season CAA title in the last three seasons after topping the league table in 2024 with a 6-2 conference mark.
  • Needing a victory in the regular season finale against Campbell to clinch the regular season crown, Elon came away with a 2-1 road victory behind goals from Scott Vatne and Mucchetti.
  • The Phoenix finished last season with a 10-7-1 overall record. As the top seed in the CAA Championship, Elon hosted a semifinal match against No. 4 seeded Hofstra, losing 2-0 to the eventual conference champions.
  • Elon went its first eight matches without a defeat and rose to as high as No. 10 in the national rankings. During that stretch, the Phoenix won its first five games by a combined score of 14-2, staged a 3-0 road comeback to defeat Delaware 4-3 and drew on the road against ACC opponent Wake Forest.
  • Vatne earned CAA Player of the Year after notching 10 goals and seven assists to lead the Phoenix in both categories. He became Elon's first conference player of the year since Daniel Lovitz took home the award for the SoConn in 2013.
  • Victor Stromsten, Tomasz Wroblewski, Kitch and Veltri also earned All-CAA recognition, with all four earning a spot on the second team.
  • Additionally, head coach Marc Reeves took home CAA Coach of the Year for the second time in three seasons after also winning the award in 2022.

New Look CAA Soccer
  • Starting in 2025, the CAA will feature two divisions for men's soccer – a North and South Division.
  • Elon is part of the South Division alongside Campbell, College of Charleston, UNCW and William & Mary.
  • The Phoenix will face the other four South Division teams twice during the regular season, with one game at home and one on the road.
  • At the end of the regular season, the top three teams from each division will qualify for the CAA Championship. The top seed in each division will receive a bye to the semifinals while the Nos. 2 and 3 seeds in both the North and South will clash in the quarterfinals.
