Inside The Matchups
- Saturday will be the 19th all-time meeting between Elon and William & Mary and the second this season.
- Elon is 6-7-5 against the Tribe but is unbeaten in the last seven encounters between the teams.
- Earlier this season, the Phoenix and Tribe played to a 1-1 tie at Rudd Field. William & Mary scored early in the match but a Magnus Jacobsen goal off a corner feed from Weston Jonke secured a CAA point for Elon.
- The Tribe and Phoenix also tied 1-1 in their regular season meeting in Williamsburg a season ago.
- Elon and Guilford will meet for the first time since 1992. The teams played 22 times before the Phoenix moved up to Division I.
Joe Taylor On The Left
- Joe Taylor took home a pair of honors this week for the Phoenix. The defender scored the game-winning goal and played the full 90 minutes on the back line for Elon in its 1-0 road win at Duke on Sept. 25.
- On Monday, Taylor was named CAA Defensive Player of the Week, becoming Elon's first CAA weekly award winner of the campaign.
- Taylor was then named to the TopDrawer Soccer Team of the Week on Tuesday. He is the first Phoenix to earn that recognition since Martin Kozak on Nov. 11, 2025.
- Taylor's goal against the Blue Devils was the first of his Phoenix career in his 23rd appearance with the team. The match against Duke was also his first time going the full 90 minutes this season.
Elon Storylines
- Down Goes Duke: Elon earned its first ever road win against Duke on Sept. 25 downing the Blue Devils in Durham, 1-0. Taylor scored the lone goal of the match.
- CAA Praise: Elon was tabbed to finish first in the CAA South Division preseason poll. The Phoenix also had four preseason All-CAA honorees – Martin Kozak, Magnus Jacobsen, Weston Jonke and Renz. Additionally, Ben Madore was named a preseason All-CAA honorable mention.
- Quick Strikes: Elon has scored in the opening five minutes of each of its last two victories. Both goals have come on free kicks and were scored on the first shot attempt of the match. Taylor scored the early goal at Duke, with Jonke striking in the opening moments against USC Upstate.
- Winning Streak: The Phoenix rides a season-best three-match winning streak into Williamsburg on Saturday. Elon has defeated Davidson, Duke and USC Upstate during its winning streak.
- Dom-inating: Renz leads the Phoenix in both points (10) and goals (4) this season. The reigning CAA Rookie of the Year is top five in the CAA in points and has netted a goal in each of Elon's last two conference matches. The forward has points in four of Elon's last six outings, including a goal in Elon's most recent outing against USC Upstate.
- Give Him His Flowers: Jahmir Flowers has already set a career high in goals with four through Elon's first 10 matches this season. The senior is second on the Phoenix with nine points, another career best.
- Oscar-Worthy Performance: Oscar Tonidandel has racked up seven points in Elon's last six matches. The midfielder is a perfect 2-for-2 on penalty kicks this season, scoring his second goal from the penalty spot Tuesday against USC Upstate. His eight points are the third most on the Phoenix.
- Goalie Rotation: Elon has rotated goalies in the first 10 matches of the season. Drew Hartman has started seven times, including all four of Elon's CAA contests. - Nonconference Success: Elon is 5-1-0 this season against nonconference opponents and has won four straight nonconference fixtures against Radford, Davidson, Duke and USC Upstate.
- Iron Man Streak: Jacobsen has played all 900 minutes on Elon's back line this season, the only Phoenix to not be subbed off the field. The defender also has a goal and an assist on the campaign, with the goal coming earlier this season against the Tribe.
- Offensive Production: Elon has scored multiple goals in six of its 10 matches this season. Elon's 20 goals have come from 12 different scorers. Elon and William & Mary are tied for the most goals scored in the conference entering Saturday's match.

The reigning CAA Tournament Most Outstanding Player has a goal and a pair of assists on the campaign, highlighted by a three-point effort in Elon's season-opening victory against VMI. He was named to the Hermann Trophy Preseason Watch List in August.
- Home Sweet Home: Elon remains unbeaten at Rudd Field this season with a 3-0-2 record. The Phoenix has won or tied its last 15 home matches, a streak that began with last season's home opener.
- CAA South Status: Elon and William & Mary will clash Saturday with second place in the CAA South standings on the line. The Tribe currently sits in second with seven points, with Elon in third with five points. An Elon victory would vault the Phoenix past the Tribe and into second.
