ELON – Elon defender Joe Taylor picked up another honor Tuesday as the senior was named to the TopDrawer Soccer Team of The Week.

Taylor scored the game-winning goal Friday night for the Phoenix at Duke, converting a free kick from nearly 30 yards out in the third minute for the only score of the contest. The defender then logged all 90 minutes for the first time this season to help Elon beat Duke 1-0, its first ever road victory against the Blue Devils.

The senior was also named CAA Defensive Player of the Week on Monday. Taylor becomes the first Phoenix to be named to the TopDrawer Team of the Week since Martin Kozak on Nov. 11, 2025.

Elon returns home to Rudd Field on Tuesday night for a match against USC Upstate. The contest is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start.
