COLUMBIA, S.C. – For the first time in program history, three pairings for the Elon women's tennis team have advanced to the third round at ITA Carolina Regionals as the Phoenix completed day three of the tournament Saturday at the Carolina Tennis Center.

Elon went 3-0 in the second round of doubles in the morning, including a pair of victories over seeded opponents. Cornelia Kack and Iga Piotrowska picked up the first seeded win by defeating NC State's Georgia Cranford and Amelie Smejkalovs, 8-4. Kack and Piotrowska improved to 7-1 together this fall with the result.

Simone Bergeron and Mariana Reding made it two seeded wins for the Phoenix with an 8-6 comeback triumph against Amalie Drukerova and Elizabeth Ivanov of Charlotte. Bergeron and Reding trailed 2-6 in the contest but rattled off the final six games of the match to advance. The tandem has won multiple matches at both ITA All-Americans and Regionals this fall.

Rounding out Elon's perfect day in doubles was Lisa Kraneca and Alexandria Warsing, who won 8-5 against Charlotte's Karina Mohamed and Amalia Widdowson. Kranec and Warsing are 6-2 together this fall.

This is the first time Elon has sent multiple doubles duos to the round of 16 at ITA Carolina Regionals since 2016 when two Phoenix pairs advanced to the third round.

In singles, Kack was eliminated from the main singles draw with a loss against Wake Forest's Claire Hill. Bergeron advanced in the consolation singles draw with a 6-1, 6-2 triumph against Floortje Chrisstoffels from Coastal Carolina.

Play will continue Sunday with morning singles and afternoon doubles.
