TEE SHOTS
- Elon returns to the same five-golfer lineup that won the season-opening Elon Women's Invitational. Freshmen Clémence Chouvin and Milagros Giordani rejoin Lilli Downer, Emma Hansen and Haley Paramore after sitting out the Tot Hill Farm Invitational. Giordani placed 13th at 8-over 221 in her collegiate debut, while Chouvin tied for 25th at 12-over 225.
- The Phoenix most recently competed at the Tot Hill Farm Invitational on Sept. 28-29, finishing 10th at 56-over-par 920 (300-300-320). Downer paced Elon with a tie for 21st at 7-over 223 (72-74-77).
- Downer has been Elon's top individual finisher in both tournaments this fall, averaging 72.17 strokes across six rounds. The sophomore has recorded three rounds at par or better, including a collegiate-low 3-under 68 in the second round of the Elon Women's Invitational.
- Downer earned her first collegiate individual title at the Elon Women's Invitational, sharing medalist honors with William & Mary's Abigail Avallone at 3-under 210 (72-68-70). She closed with consecutive under-par rounds and was named the CAA Co-Golfer of the Week following the victory.
- Elon opened the fall with a wire-to-wire team victory at its home tournament, finishing at 9-over 861 (282-289-290) to defeat runner-up William & Mary by 21 strokes. All five golfers in the Phoenix lineup finished among the top 25, including three among the top six.
- Elon is under new leadership in 2026-27 after naming longtime Alabama assistant Susan Rosenstiel its head coach and Hall of Famer Mic Potter an assistant coach in June. Potter, who won more than 70 tournaments during 43 seasons as a Division I head coach, will serve as interim head coach through Feb. 28 before Rosenstiel officially begins her tenure March 1 following 23 seasons at Alabama that included the 2012 NCAA Championship, three SEC titles and 15 NCAA Championship appearances.
- Elon's roster has an international flair, featuring hometowns in France (Chouvin), Canada (Downer, Hansen, Zhao) and Argentina (Giordani).
- The Phoenix will play once more this fall at the Edisto Island Invitational on Oct. 19-20.
