ELON – Elon men's basketball special assistant to the head coach
Steve Robinson will be the featured speaker at the Raleigh Sports Club's weekly luncheon Wednesday in Raleigh.

The program will run from noon to 1 p.m. in Bradley Hall at Highland United Methodist Church, located at 1901 Ridge Road. Doors open at 11 a.m., with a buffet lunch catered by The Forks beginning at 11:30 a.m. Attendance, which includes lunch, is $25 for club members and $30 for guests.

Robinson joined head coach
Billy Taylor's staff July 22, bringing 42 years of coaching experience to the Phoenix. His career includes stops at Arizona, North Carolina, Kansas, Florida State and Tulsa, with three national championships and 31 NCAA Tournament appearances.

Robinson spent 18 seasons as an assistant coach under Roy Williams at North Carolina, helping the Tar Heels capture three national titles. He most recently served as an assistant at Arizona from 2021-25 and previously held head coaching positions at Tulsa and Florida State.

Founded in 1964, the Raleigh Sports Club hosts Wednesday luncheons from September through March, featuring speakers from collegiate and professional sports. The club also recognizes local high school student-athletes for their athletic, academic and community achievements and awards scholarships annually to students who do not receive athletic scholarships.
