ELON – Elon men's basketball announced Monday its 2026-27 nonconference schedule, a 14-game slate spanning Nov. 2 through Dec. 22 featuring seven home contests at Schar Center and seven on the road.
The Phoenix opens the season Monday, Nov. 2, at Columbia before returning to Elon for its home opener against UNCG on Friday, Nov. 6. The latter matchup continues a 47-game series between the local opponents, with Elon entering the season having won each of the past two meetings in consecutive seasons. The Phoenix earned a 92-90 overtime victory over the Spartans in Greensboro last season.
Elon will also welcome former Southern Conference foe Chattanooga to Schar Center on Friday, Nov. 13, before hosting Morehead State on Saturday, Nov. 21.
The Phoenix's road slate features a pair of matchups against power conference opponents, beginning with a trip to SEC member South Carolina on Wednesday, Nov. 18. Elon will later travel to Raleigh to face ACC foe NC State on Saturday, Nov. 28.
A Nov. 24 visit to Furman provides another matchup against a former SoCon opponent and a rematch of last season's meeting at Schar Center. The Paladins defeated the Phoenix 97-88 on Dec. 3, 2025.
Elon opens December with the return of James Madison to Schar Center on Thursday, Dec. 3. The Phoenix and Dukes will meet for the first time since JMU departed the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) following the 2021-22 season.
The December home slate also includes NC Wesleyan on Dec. 6, Longwood on Dec. 16 and Montreat College on Dec. 19. Three additional road games on Elon's nonconference slate include trips to George Washington on Nov. 10, Richmond on Dec. 12 and Radford on Dec. 22.
