ELON – Elon defender Magnus Jacobsen landed on the TopDrawer Soccer Team of the Week on Tuesday.
Jacobsen scored a goal and logged a team-high 88 minutes Saturday in a 3-0 CAA victory over Campbell. He helped the Phoenix back line limit the Camels to just five shot attempts in the match and no shots on goal. Elon has now produced over 300 consecutive minutes of shutout soccer.
The sophomore was also tabbed as the CAA Defensive Player of the Week on Monday. Jacobsen is the second Phoenix to earn TopDrawer Team of the Week honors this season, joining
Joe Taylor, who featured on the Sept. 29 edition.
The Phoenix kicks off its CAA Tournament campaign Thursday in the quarterfinals against College of Charleston at Rudd Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 5 p.m.
