ELON – The Elon women's basketball team built and maintained control throughout the game, never trailing as they pulled away to a 68-54 win over Towson at Schar Center on Sunday.
Laila Anderson led the Phoenix with 16 points, marking her sixth straight game in double figures.
Tyana Walker added 15 points, going 3-for-4 from three, while
LaNae' Corbett contributed 13 points. On the glass,
Quinzia Fulmore recorded her third double-digit rebound game of the season with 10 boards.
Elon improved to 10-11 overall and 5-4 in CAA play, while Towson dropped to 12-9 overall and 5-4 in conference play.
THE RUNDOWN
- The Phoenix got out to a 7-0 lead, forcing back-to-back Tigers turnovers and converting on both. Elon dominated the rest of the frame with a 13-6 run, ending the first quarter on top, 20-6.
- Elon continued the momentum into the second quarter with a 6–0 run, forcing a quick Towson timeout at 26–6 with 8:14 left in the frame. The teams then traded baskets, with Towson cutting the deficit to 14 at 32–18 before the Phoenix closed the quarter ahead, 35–18.
- The Phoenix went on a 13–6 run to start the third quarter, extending their lead to 48–24 and later pushing it to 51–24 with 3:51 remaining in the quarter. The Tigers responded with an 8–1 run to cut the deficit to 20 at 32–52, and Elon closed the quarter ahead, 54–34.
- The teams went back and forth in the fourth quarter, but Elon's lead was too much for the Tigers to overcome, with Elon securing the 68-54 win.

- Laila Anderson reached double figures for the sixth straight game, adding 16 points.
- Tyana Walker reached double-figure points for the fifth time this season with 15 points, going 3-for-4 from three, while also grabbing seven rebounds.
- LaNae' Corbett added 13 points, marking her 14th double-figure performance of the season, going 5-for-9 from the field.
- Quinzia Fulmore flirted with a double-double, adding eight points and 10 rebounds, her third game this season with double-digit boards.
- Maraja Pass dished out a team-high seven assists, one shy of her career-high, and added two steals.
- Elon allowed just six first-quarter points, matching the Phoenix's lowest total allowed in a quarter this season.
- As a team, the Phoenix grabbed a conference-high 29 defensive rebounds this season.
- Elon held the Tigers to shooting 0-for-9 from the three-point line in the first half.
- The Phoenix grabbed double the rebounds of the Tigers, outrebounding them 24–12 in the first half.
- Ten of the 12 Elon players who saw action scored at least two points.
- The Phoenix used the same starting lineup of Laila Anderson, LaNae' Corbett, Maraja Pass, Tyana Walker, and Tamia Watkins.
