RICHMOND, Va. – Elon sophomore
Cornelia Kack has been tabbed as the Co-CAA Women's Tennis Player of the Week, as the conference announced its weekly tennis awards Tuesday.
Kack went 2-0 in both singles and doubles last week in a pair of Elon victories. In singles, Kack won both her outings at the No. 2 spot, first defeating Yoanna Radulova of Liberty, 6-3, 6-0, before a 6-2, 6-3 win against George Washington's Madison Lee. Kack also turned in two wins at No. 3 doubles alongside
Lisa Kranec to help the Phoenix earn the doubles point in both contests.
Kack has picked up singles and doubles wins in each of Elon's last three contests, dropping just eight games in her three singles victories. She has won three singles sets by a 6-0 score during her winning streak. All three of her doubles triumphs have come alongside Kranec, as the duo leads the Phoenix in wins this spring.
Kack shared the weekly award with Drexel's Lucie Lemongo.
After facing No. 3 North Carolina on Tuesday, the Phoenix will host Gardner-Webb and Livingstone in a Saturday doubleheader at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center.
