ELON – The Elon women's basketball team controlled the momentum throughout the contest, sealing a dominant 75–52 victory over William & Mary.

Tamia Watkins recorded her third double-double of the season, leading the Phoenix with 16 points and 10 rebounds.
Laila Anderson (13 points), LaNae Corbett (11), and
Ashanti Fox (10) also reached double figures.

With the win, Elon improved to 11-12 overall and 6-5 in CAA play, while William & Mary fell to 12-10 overall and 5-6 in conference play.
THE RUNDOWN
- The Phoenix came out to a hot 7–0 start, forcing an early Tribe timeout with 7:03 left in the opening quarter. Elon extended its advantage to 18–5 and ended the quarter on top, 22–10.
- Elon opened the second quarter on a 7–2 run, with scores from Ashlee Shaw, Laila Anderson, and Tamia Watkins to go up 29–12. Elon then followed with a 6–2 run before back-to-back William & Mary buckets made it 35–17. The teams traded scores to end the half with Elon ahead, 38–19.
- The Tribe came out of the break on a 6–0 run, cutting Elon's lead to 38–25. The Phoenix answered with a 10–3 run of their own, extending the lead back to 48–28 and forcing a William & Mary timeout with 6:07 left in the third quarter. The teams traded baskets the rest of the frame, as Elon took a 57–40 lead into the final period.
- Elon went on a 6-2 run opening the final frame, leading 63-42 with 6:57 left. The Tribe got back within 20 at 68-48, but the Phoenix controlled the rest of the game, securing a 75-52 win.Â
NOTES
- Tamia Watkins notched her third double-double of the season with 16 points and 10 rebounds, shooting a perfect 8-for-8Â from the free-throw line.
- Laila Anderson reached double figures for the eighth straight game, finishing with 14 points while going 3-for-6 from beyond the arc.
- LaNae' Corbett recorded 11 points and led the team with three steals.
- Ashanti Fox added double figures for the sixth time this season with 10 points.
- Maraja Pass led the team with four assists and six rebounds, one shy of her season high.
- Ten of the 12 Elon players who saw action scored at least two points.
- Elon's 48 total rebounds marked its highest total in a CAA game this season.
- Elon's 27-point margin of victory is the largest in a CAA game this season and the program's largest since defeating College of Charleston, 90–41, on Jan. 10, 2020.
- The Phoenix grabbed a season-high 25 offensive rebounds, marking the 15th time this season they have led the offensive glass.
- Elon used the same starting lineup of Laila Anderson, LaNae' Corbett, Maraja Pass, Tyana Walker, and Tamia Watkins.
