Miller, Lintelman Shine In Relief

WILMINGTON – Elon dropped their second straight game to UNCW on Saturday. The Seahawks jumped out in front of the Phoenix early and did not look back in the 8-0 loss.
 
Cole Miller and Eric Lintelman had strong efforts in relief for the Phoenix. Miller went 2.2 innings out of the bullpen and allowed no runs on just two hits. Lintelman delivered the final 2.2 innings, allowed no baserunners and struck out two.
 
Seven different Phoenix registered a hit with Gavin Bogdanchik putting together the lone, multi-hit game.
 
The Phoenix falls to 9-9 and 2-3 in the CAA while UNCW improves to 13-6 and 2-0 in conference play.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • UNCW got on the board with a solo home run in the 2nd inning.
  • The Seahawks expanded their lead in the 3rd with three more runs to take a 4-0 advantage.
  • UNCW capitalized on Elon's pitching in the 6th and added four more runs to their total.
  • Elon's offense put two runners on with no one out in the 8th but could not bring home a run.
  • The Phoenix could not find any counter in the 9th and fell 8-0.
