ELON – Elon junior Jaqueline Zacharias was named the Coastal Athletic Association Women's Field Athlete of the Week on Tuesday afternoon.
 
Zacharias set an Elon school record and won the javelin throw with a personal-best 44.93m (147' 5") at the Phoenix Invitational last Friday. The mark ranks atop the CAA by over six meters and stands fifth nationally in the early stages of the outdoor track & field season.
 
Zacharias finished sixth in the javelin throw at the 2025 CAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships last May.
 
The Phoenix returns to action later this week at High Point's Bob Davidson Team Challenge on Friday and Saturday.
