Phoenix Hosts Campbell On Senior Day

Elon Will Honor Oskar Antinheimo And Veljko Krstic Pre-Match

ELON – The Elon men's tennis team (4-11) returns home Wednesday for a 4:30 p.m. conference showdown against Campbell (7-10) at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center. 
 
The match will serve as Senior Day for the Phoenix, which will honor seniors Oskar Antinheimo and Veljko Krstic in a pre-match ceremony beginning at 4:20 p.m.

The Matchup   
  • Elon meets Campbell for the 17th time Friday afternoon, holding a 14-2 advantage in the all-time series. 
  • The Phoenix has defeated the Camels at least once in each of the past four seasons, highlighted by a win in the quarterfinals of the 2024 CAA Tournament. 
  • Wednesday's matchup marks Elon's second conference contest of the spring, following its March 20 victory over William & Mary. 
    
Last Time Out   
  • The final two singles matches on March 29 between Elon and No. 56 Old Dominion came down to third sets, with the Monarchs clinching a 4-2 victory by winning the deciding frame on Court 4 at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center. The Monarchs won a tight doubles point with wins at the Nos. 1 and 3 spots. 
  • Playing together for the first time, Jack Curtis and Veljko Krstic pushed Old Dominion's top doubles duo of Adam Majchrzak and Thomas Nelson, as the teams traded holds of serve in the first eight games. However, the Monarchs broke for a 5-4 lead and then served out a 6-4 win to secure the opening point for Old Dominion. 
  • Antinheimo and Rafael Ymer were tied 4-4 on Court 2 against Zech Hamrouni and Piet Steveker when the match was halted. 
  • The Monarchs went ahead 2-0 after picking up a win on Court 6. 
  • Krstic put Elon on the board with a convincing 6-3, 6-2 victory over Majchrzak at the No. 1 spot. It was Krstic's fourth straight win, as the senior has won eight consecutive sets. 
  • Old Dominion restored a two-point lead with a win on Court 5. After dropping the first set against Steveker, Parichkov went ahead by a break early in the second and led 5-4 before Steveker won the final three games to seal the win. 
  • Ymer again brought Elon back within one with a victory at the No. 2 spot. The sophomore defeated Jean-Karim Oliver de Sardan 6-2, 6-4 for his fourth straight win and 11th of the season. Ymer went down a break in the second set and trailed 4-3 before reeling off the final three games of the match. 
  • The final two singles matches went to final sets on Courts 3 and 4. Antinheimo won the first set against Hamrouni at the No. 4 spot but was taken to a deciding frame. In the third, Hamrouni broke Antinheimo twice to take a 4-1 lead, but Antinheimo got one of the breaks back and pulled back to 4-3 and 5-4. Hamrouni held to love in his final service game to clinch a 3-6, 6-2, 6-4 win and secure the winning point for Old Dominion. 
  • On Court 3, Curtis overcame dropping the first set in a tiebreak to win the second, 6-0. He led 3-2 in the third with the match on serve when the contest was halted. 
 
Senior Spotlight  
  • Krstic has been a cornerstone for the Phoenix throughout his career, totaling 71 dual match wins, including 44 in singles and 27 in doubles.
  • A five-time All-CAA selection, Krstic earned First Team Singles honors in 2024 and 2025, along with Second Team Doubles (2025) and Third Team Doubles (2024) recognition, and Second Team Singles honors in 2023.
  • He was named the 2023 CAA Rookie of the Year and has added five CAA Tournament victories across singles and doubles.
  • Krstic has also earned five weekly conference honors, including two Player of the Week selections and three Doubles Team of the Week honors.
  • Antinheimo has been a steady presence in the lineup, compiling 75 career dual wins with a near-even split between singles (39) and doubles (36).
  • A two-time All-CAA selection, Antinheimo earned Second Team Singles honors in 2024 and Second Team Doubles recognition in 2025.
  • He has contributed four CAA Tournament wins across singles and doubles during his career.
  • Antinheimo has also collected five weekly CAA honors, including two Player of the Week awards and three Doubles Team of the Week honors.

About The Phoenix 
  • Elon sits at 4-11 this season and is coming off a weekend of two hard-fought home losses, a narrow 4-3 setback to Georgia Southern and a tightly contested battle against No. 56 Old Dominion.  
  • Veljko Krstic is ranked No. 116 in the ITA singles poll and is on a four-match winning streak at No. 1 singles, highlighted by a victory over No. 56 Old Dominion. He earned All-CAA honors in both singles and doubles a season ago.
  • Rafael Ymer and Jack Curtis also picked up All-CAA recognition in both singles and doubles last season. Ymer leads the Phoenix with 18 total victories across doubles and singles this season and has formed a strong doubles duo with Curtis, as the pairing has the second-most victories on the team this spring with four wins. 
  • Oskar Antinheimo rounded out Elon's postseason honorees in 2025, landing on the All-CAA Second Team in doubles. Antinheimo has won three of his last five singles matches and is 3-1 playing doubles with Ymer this spring.
  • Elon returns three more players from last season – Luke Forester, Charles Pilet and Alonso Roca. Pilet delivered 10 victories as a freshman across singles and doubles, while Roca notched a pair of singles wins in the spring. 
  • The Phoenix welcomes two newcomers in 2025-26. Nick Fisk joins Elon as a freshman, while sophomore Nikola Parichkov comes to Elon after being a part of Wake Forest's national championship team last spring. 
  • Elon has been to four straight CAA title matches, losing all four to UNCW.  
  • Head coach Maciek Sykut is in his second year at the helm of the Phoenix. 
 
Win In Williamsburg
  • Elon picked up a crucial 6-1 road victory at William & Mary on March 20 for its first win against a CAA opponent this season.
  • Krstic and Parichkov clinched a tight doubles point for the Phoenix with a tiebreak win over the two-time reigning CAA Doubles Team of the Week on Court 1. Antinheimo and Ymer won on Court 3 to set up Elon's top court for the clinch.
  • Krstic kept the momentum rolling in singles, winning 6-1, 7-6 (3) on Court 1, winning his second tiebreak of the day in the second set to put the Phoenix ahead 2-0.
  • Playing singles for just the second time since Feb. 21, Curtis extended Elon's lead to 3-0 with a 6-3, 6-3 result at the No. 4 spot. It was his third victory of the spring.
  • After William & Mary on Court 3 to cut Elon's lead to 3-1, Pilet delivered the winning point for the Phoenix with a three-set victory at the No. 6 position. Pilet raced out to a 4-1 lead in the third set and held on for a 3-6, 7-5, 6-4 victory that secured an Elon win.
  • Antinheimo and Ymer also came through in three-set matches to polish off a 6-1 Elon victory.
  • The Phoenix has now won its last two trips to Williamsburg after losing there its previous six tries.
 
Beat The Best To Be The Best
  • For the second time this spring, Krstic and Parichkov were named CAA Doubles Team of the Week on March 24.
  • The duo knocked off William & Mary's top duo of Oliver Hague and Gur Trakhtenberg, who were the two-time reigning CAA Doubles Team of the Week entering Friday's match, in a tiebreak to secure the doubles point for the Phoenix against the Tribe.
  • Krstic and Parichkov went down an early break but fought back to eventually force a tiebreak. Elon's top tandem won five of the first six points but found themselves tied 6-6 at the second changeover. The Phoenix responded by winning the next two points to notch a decisive victory.
  • The win was the fourth of the season for the pairing, two of which have come in tiebreaks to clinch doubles points for the Phoenix. Krstic and Parichkov also delivered a tiebreak win to clinch doubles on Feb. 19 against Charlotte.
  • Krstic and Parichkov won the first CAA Doubles Team of the Week award on Jan. 27. This is Krstic's third time winning the weekly honor, as he also won with Antinheimo on March 28, 2023.
 
Rafa Rising  
  • Ymer leads the Phoenix with 11 singles victories this spring, with 10 coming at the No. 2 position and one from the No. 1 spot.
  • He owns an 11-3 overall record and won a pair of straight-setters in Elon's home matches last weekend.
  • The sophomore earned a ranked singles win on Jan. 21, defeating No. 73 Alexander Frusina of No. 11 Texas A&M. He later added victories at home against Charlotte, on the road at No. 23 NC State, and at home over No. 56 Old Dominion.   
  • Three of Ymer's last five singles wins have come in third sets. His three final-set wins lead the Phoenix, as he is 3-1 in decisive frames on the season.
  • Ymer captured his second career CAA Player of the Week honor on Jan. 27, highlighted in the season's first CAA weekly men's tennis awards.  
  • Primarily competing at the No. 2 spot, he holds a 7-3 record in doubles. He is 3-1 playing with Antinheimo and 4-2 playing with Curtis.
  • Ymer's 18 victories across doubles and singles are the most on the Phoenix. He holds a combined record of 18-6.
 
Serbian Surge   
  • Krstic made a historic run at ITA Carolina Regionals in October, placing third in the main singles draw.     
  • The senior advanced to the semifinals in the event, becoming the first Elon player to make the final four in singles at Regionals since Cameron Silverman in 2013.    
  • Krstic delivered four victories to reach the semifinals, defeating players from North Carolina, Charlotte, Clemson and South Carolina along the way.    
  • In his semifinal against Wake Forest's Luca Pow, Krstic won the second set, 6-2, after dropping the opener in a tiebreak. He pushed Pow to the end, ultimately falling 4-6 in the deciding frame.    
  • Krstic finished the fall with a team-best 10 singles victories. He also had six doubles wins.    
  • Krstic rose to No. 60 in the first ITA singles rankings of the spring, which were released on Feb. 4. He is the second Elon individual to reach the top 60 in the rankings and is currently ranked No. 116. He has appeared in all five editions of the rankings since debuting on Nov. 25.
  • Krstic is up to 44 career dual singles victories, the most among current Elon players. An All-CAA First Team honoree in singles a season ago, Krstic posted double-digit singles wins in each of his first three seasons with the Phoenix.    
  • With his March 20 win over William & Mary, Krstic snapped a six-match singles skid and has since surged into form, riding a four-match winning streak. The run is highlighted by a victory over No. 56 Old Dominion on March 29 and marks his longest stretch of success since an eight-match streak that carried from the end of the 2025 season into the start of this year.
 
Big O
  • Antinheimo has won three of his last five singles matches heading into Senior Night.
  • The senior has picked up singles wins against Coastal Carolina, William & Mary and VCU over that span, with both matches in Virginia going three sets.
  • Antinheimo is one of three Phoenix players to play four different singles spots this spring. He has made at least one appearance at Nos. 3-6 singles.
  • Antinheimo has also won four of his last five matches in doubles, three of which came alongside Ymer. Antinheimo and Ymer were also at match point at No. 3 doubles against No. 34 Clemson when their match was halted.
  • Antinheimo is up to 75 career dual victories (39 in singles, 36 in doubles) in his fourth season with the Phoenix. He is Elon's active leader in total career wins.
 
Doubles Success
  • The Phoenix has won seven of 15 doubles points this spring and has taken the opening point in six of its last 11 matches, including in its CAA road victory at William & Mary.
  • Krstic and Parichkov have won two CAA Doubles Team of the Week honors this season, including on March 24. Elon's No. 1 duo leads the team with five victories this spring and has clinched a pair of doubles points for the Phoenix with tiebreak victories.  
  • Curtis and Ymer have been one of Elon's most successful pairings, going 4-2 at the No. 2 spot. Ymer is also 3-1 this spring playing alongside Antinheimo.
  • Six different doubles duos have won a match this spring for the Phoenix. 
 
Four In A Row   
  • Elon has advanced to four straight CAA championship matches, a streak that began in 2022.    
  • Last season, the Phoenix hosted the event at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center and defeated Monmouth in the semifinals to reach the final against top-seeded UNCW.    
  • The Phoenix and Seahawks have met in each of the last four conference title matches, with UNCW winning all four.    
  • In the last four CAA Tournaments, Elon is 7-0 in the quarterfinal and semifinal rounds. The Phoenix's last loss prior to the championship match came in 2021.   
  
Scouting Campbell 
  • Campbell enters Wednesday with a 7-10 record and is on a three-match losing streak. Two of those losses came against teams Elon has faced this season, UNCG, which the Phoenix defeated 6-1, and Coastal Carolina, which edged the Phoenix 4-3. 
  • The Camels are 3-5 in road matches this season, with losses to ranked opponents NC State, North Carolina, and Duke. Their last road win came March 13 at NC Wesleyan. 
  • Thomas Drapeau is tied for the team lead with eight singles wins this spring, primarily playing at the No. 1 position, and includes a ranked win at No. 9 NC State. 
  • Antinheimo defeated Drapeau at the Elon Invitational this fall, 6-3, 6-3. Krstic defeated him last season, 7-6 (0), 6-1. 
  • Aleksandar Hudjec also has eight singles wins on the season, competing mainly at the No. 3 and No. 4 spots. 
  • Alex Fragasso has seven singles victories this season, all coming from the No. 2 and No. 3 positions. 
  • Drapeau and Hudjec are 5-1 at No. 2 doubles for the Camels, while Campbell has just two wins at No. 1 doubles this season. 
  • The Camels are 2-0 in conference play with wins over Hampton and Hofstra. 
  • Campbell is led by head coach David Johnson, who is in his 28th season with the program.
