ELON – The Elon women's lacrosse team (7-7) saw its three-game winning streak snapped by No. 12 Stanford (12-3) on Sunday at Rudd Field, falling 19-6 to the Cardinal.
The matchup was Elon's fourth this season against an ACC opponent and the third against a ranked team. It was the second time the Phoenix has hosted the Cardinal at Rudd.
Mackenzie Coleman led the Phoenix with a pair of goals to extend her scoring streak to 10 games. Four different Phoenix scored a goal.
How It Happened
- Stanford raced out a 9-2 lead in the opening quarter. Ana Lee Vandiver and Gwen Eilender scored Elon's two goals.
- The Cardinal outscored the Phoenix 6-0 in the second quarter to take a 15-2 halftime lead.
- Coleman and Danielle Swietoniowski scored goals in the third quarter for the Phoenix. Elon scored the final two goals of the contest, with Coleman netting her second of the day and freshman Brooke Holmes scoring the first of her career.

Notable Numbers
- Coleman extended her career-long goal scoring streak to 10 with her team-best two goals against the Cardinal.
- Holmes became the 14th Elon goal scorer this season with her first career tally in the fourth quarter. Fellow freshman Lizzie Scalzo assisted on the goal.
- Swietoniowski's goal was her first since March 10 against Notre Dame. The sophomore scored four goals against ACC opponents this season.
- With her fifth goal of the season, Eilender became the eighth Phoenix to hit double-digit points this season. Her 10 points are a career best.
- Stanford outshot Elon, 31-22. Of Stanford's 31 shots, 29 were on goal. Anna Hackett led Elon with six shot attempts.
- Arianna Silvestri grabbed a career-high five draw controls to pace the Phoenix. The junior had never recorded a draw control before Sunday. Silvestri was also one of seven Phoenix to cause a turnover.
- Jamie Fardin made her Elon debut, causing a turnover and scooping a ground ball.
- Caitlin Walsh started in goal, making six saves and securing a team-high three ground balls. Evelyn Tull Springer took over goalkeeping duties in the second quarter, stopping four Cardinal attempts.
- The teams both finished with 13 ground balls. Stanford turned the ball over 12 times compared to just 11 giveaways by the Phoenix.
