Box Score TOWSON, Md. – The Elon women's lacrosse team (7-8, 3-3 CAA) closed out its regular-season road slate Sunday at Tiger Field, falling 16-7 to Towson (6-9, 4-2 CAA).

Anna Hackett and Lizzie Scalzo paced the Phoenix with three points apiece, with Hackett notching a pair of goals.

How It Happened

• Towson got out to a 2-0 lead in the opening minutes of the game before a pair of Elon goals from Hackett and Ana Lee Vandiver knotted the score at 2-2 to end the first.
• The Tigers outscored the Phoenix 9-1 in the second quarter to take an 11-3 lead into halftime.
• Hackett netted her second goal of the game in the third quarter, while MJ Santa Barbara, Gwen Eilender, and Scalzo added goals in the fourth in the 16-7 loss.

Notable Numbers

• Scalzo turned in her second straight three-point outing in CAA play with her goal and two assists.
• Hackett's two goals moved her career tally to 93 as she continues her quest to become the third Phoenix all-time to reach 100 career points and goals. 
• Vandiver finished the day with a goal and assist. It was her ninth multi-point outing of the campaign.
• Eilender and Santa Barbara both added to their career-best goal tallies as both now have six goals this season. 
• The Tigers outshot the Phoenix 46-21, with 30 of their attempts coming in the first half. Caitlin Walsh made nine stops in goal for the Phoenix.
• Cameron Johsnon paced Elon with two ground balls. Eliza Ritter forced a team-best two turnovers.
• Towson finished with an 18-7 advantage in the draw circles.
• The Tigers secured the third of four spots in the CAA Tournament with the victory. Elon can still qualify as the fourth tournament team in the final weekend of the regular season.
