ELON –The Elon baseball team (19-31) closes out the regular season with three straight road games this week. The Phoenix will travel to Charlotte to face Queens (15-35) for the second game of a home-and-home series, followed by a doubleheader Thursday against Northern Kentucky (24-26) and USC Upstate (25-27) in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
First pitch against the Royals is at 6 p.m. Tuesday with the contest being streamed on the Queens Sports Network. Elon took the first contest against Queens 8-7 in extra innings earlier this season.
Game one of Thursday's doubleheader against Northern Kentucky is at 1 p.m. with the second game against USC Upstate beginning at approximately 5 p.m. The latter contest will be streamed on ESPN+.

SERIES HIGHLIGHTS – Queens
- Elon leads the all-time series, 1-0.
- The lone meeting came earlier this season where the Phoenix prevailed 8-7 in 10 innings. Gar Hindle sealed the win with a walk-off single.
SERIES HIGHLIGHTS – Northern Kentucky
- Elon trails the all-time series, 1-2.
- The Phoenix and Norse have not met since 1985.
SERIES HIGHLIGHTS – USC Upstate
- Elon leads the all-time series, 12-9.
- Elon has won nine of the last 10 meetings against the Spartans, including the two of the three meetings in Elon's Division I era.
- The Phoenix lost the most recent meeting last week in a neutral site game at Fluor Field in Greenville, South Carolina. The Spartans took down Elon, 18-4, in seven innings.
QUICK HITS
- Senior Jackson Alford has been one of the top base stealers in the country in 2026, swiping 31 of 37 to rank fourth in the CAA and 20th nationally. Alford is the first Phoenix since Chris Dove (2008) to steal 30 or more bases in a season. Alford entered Elon's single-season top 10 list with his stolen base against Winthrop on April 21.
- Graduate Brian DuRoff paced the Phoenix offense in April, hitting .397 (23-for-58) with 14 extra-base hits and 18 RBI in that span. DuRoff began the month of May with a pair of multi-hit games in the weekend series win over William & Mary. DuRoff hit his 17th double of the season on Friday night against William & Mary, giving him the most by a Phoenix since the 2020 season.
- Freshman Gar Hindle has been the top, young bat in the Phoenix order. Hindle has recorded a hit in six of his last seven games including a .364 (4-for-11) batting average against William & Mary. Hindle is the first Phoenix since Chris Bresnahan (2012) to start a game at every infield position excluding pitcher and catcher.
- Jared Hall had his best weekend as a Phoenix against William & Mary. Hall finished the weekend hitting .462 (6-for-13) with a home run, two triples and seven RBI.
- Mike Staiano has rounded into form at the backend of Elon's bullpen. The left-hander has earned a save in four of his last six relief appearances, including Sunday afternoon at William & Mary. Staiano is tied for first in the CAA in saves (6) with his teammate RJ Latkowski.
- Following a 25-32 (13-14 CAA) season in 2025, Elon was picked in a tie for fourth in the 2026 CAA preseason poll.
- Head coach Mike Kennedy is in his 30th season at the helm of Elon Baseball. On Saturday, Kennedy won his 900th game. He becomes the 96th head coach in college baseball history to win 900 games and the 33rd to win them all at one school. After earning 25 wins last season, Kennedy has led the Phoenix to 24 seasons of 25 wins or more. Kennedy is a 2025-26 Elon Sports Hall of Fame inductee.
