ELON – The Elon women's tennis team will compete in the 2027 ITA Kickoff Weekend as the No. 4 seed in the College Station Regional. The 14 regionals comprising ITA Kickoff Weekend are scheduled for Jan. 22-24, 2027.
The two-time reigning CAA champion Phoenix will head to College Station, Texas, to round out a field consisting of host and No. 1 seed Texas A&M, No. 2 seed Rice and No. 3 Boise State. The winner of the bracket will earn a bid to the 2027 ITA Indoor National Championship.
Elon will play two matches during the event and will open the regional against the top-seeded Aggies in the semifinals. The match schedule for the weekend will be finalized at a later date.
This will be Elon's third time competing in ITA Kickoff Weekend and the first since the 2015 Gainesville Regional. The Phoenix also participated in 2014 in the Athens Regional. Elon will seek its first ever ITA Kickoff Weekend victory in College Station.
Elon will face two-time defending national champion Texas A&M for the first time in program history in its opening match. The Aggies went 28-5 in the spring and finished as the top ranked team in the ITA rankings.
The Phoenix has also never faced Boise State or Rice, who both appeared in the final ITA rankings of the season. The Owls advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament after winning the American championship.
Elon is coming off a 16-5 season that was capped with a second straight CAA title and NCAA Tournament bid. The Phoenix will be the only CAA team competing at ITA Kickoff Weekend.
