ELON – Elon freshman Hannah Carlson became the second straight Phoenix to earn CAA Rookie of the Week honors Monday as the conference released its weekly women's soccer awards. 

 

Carlson made her Elon debut Thursday night against South Carolina State, starting and scoring a game-high three points in 48 minutes of action. The defender assisted on Elon's first goal of a 6-0 victory, setting up Isa Murdock in the 14th minute. Before the end of the first half, the rookie headed in her first career goal off a corner kick feed from Talia Feigin in the 39th minute to stretch Elon's advantage to 3-0. 

 

The Phoenix has won each of the first two CAA Rookie of the Week awards of the 2026 season. Freshman midfielder Nicole Kleyner took home the award last week after scoring in her college debut against VCU on Aug. 13. All three of Elon's freshmen have scored a goal in their college debuts this season, with Emerson Rogers also converting her first career tally in the South Carolina State win.  

 

Elon rounds out a three-match road swing Thursday at Davidson. Kickoff against the Wildcats is scheduled for 7 p.m.
