The Charleston Southern Series

• Elon is 4-3 all-time against Charleston Southern.
• This will be the first meeting between the teams since 2016, when the Phoenix blanked the Buccaneers 2-0 at Rudd.
• Prior to their 2016 clash, the Phoenix and Buccaneers had not met since 2002.

 
Post-Game Yoga

• There will be a post-game yoga session on Rudd Field following the Elon-Charleston Southern match.
• The session will begin at 4 p.m. and will be led by Feel Better Yoga in conjunction with Elon SAAC.
• All Elon fans and students are welcome to participate in post-game yoga. Bring your own yoga mat, towel and water.
• The session is expected to last approximately 50 minutes.

 
Hats Off For Isa

• Isa Murdock was named CAA Offensive Player of the Week on Monday after scoring her first career hat trick last week in a win against VMI.
• The Phoenix forward netted a first-half brace before completing the hat trick in the 86th minute. It was her second career multi-goal game and first since Sept. 2, 2024.
• Murdock became the first Phoenix to score three goals in a match since Gelhaus did so against Hampton on Sept. 28, 2023.
• With the trio of goals against the Keydets, Murdock surpassed 50 career points and is now tied with Stony Brook's Emily Lemke for a conference-best 13 points on the season.  
• The weekly award is the second of Murdock's career after also earning CAA Offensive Player of the Week on Oct. 20, 2025.

 
Storylines To Follow

• Red-Hot Offense: Elon has scored 21 goals through seven matches this season and ranks top 20 nationally in goals, assists and points. The Phoenix has scored multiple goals in five of its seven contests, including six goals in a road win against South Carolina State on Aug. 20 and five at VMI on Sept. 3.
• Balanced Attack: Elon's 21 goals this season have come from 14 different goal scorers. Additionally, of the 22 field players to log minutes for Elon this season, 18 have notched at least one point.
• First-Time Goal Scorers: Six different Elon players have scored their first career goal this season – Maya Abousaab, Hannah Carlson, Isabel DiPrima, Jessica Hill, Nicole Kleyner and Emerson Rogers. Tirado's goals this season are also her first with the Phoenix after transferring to Elon from Marist.
• Helping Hand: Talia Feigin became the first Elon player to notch three assists in a match since 2023 with a trio of second-half helpers last week at VMI. Feigin is tied with Grace Gelhaus for a team-best four assists.
• GG: Reigning CAA Defender of the Year Grace Gelhaus has six points this season with one goal and four assists. All four of the helpers have come in Elon's last four matches, including a two-assist outing at Davidson.  
• Person Of Interest: Naomi Person has started six of Elon's seven matches in goal this season, the first starts of her college career. She has contributed to a pair of shutouts alongside Anica Carpenter.
• Rookies Of The Week: Elon swept the first two CAA Rookie of the Week awards this season, with Kleyner winning it on Aug. 17 before Carlson made it back-to-back for the Phoenix by earning the honor on Aug. 24. All three of Elon's freshman scored in their college debuts this season, with Kleyner adding her second career goal last week at VMI.
• All-CAA Honorees: The Phoenix was picked to finish first in the CAA South Division preseason poll. Additionally, Gelhaus, Murdock, Ava Hellner and Katie Bisgrove were all named to the preseason all-conference team. 

 
Defending Champions

• Elon won its second CAA title last fall and its first since the spring 2021 season.
• The Phoenix finished third in the South Division and clinched a CAA Tournament berth with a tie against College of Charleston on the last day of the regular season. Elon rode a six-match unbeaten streak into the postseason.
• Elon started its tournament with a 1-0 road win over William & Mary behind an Ashlee Brehio goal. In the semifinals, the Phoenix eliminated UNCW, the South's top seed, on the road via a penalty shootout following a scoreless draw to advance to the championship match.
• In the CAA final, Elon upended Stony Brook on the road in penalty kicks after a 1-1 decision on Long Island. Bisgrove made 10 saves in the contest to finish Elon's championship run with 28 stops.
• The Phoenix led the CAA last season in goal differential, goals against average, save percentage and shutout percentage. Elon allowed just 16 goals in 21 matches, conceding just 11 times in conference play.
• Elon also had a top-three scoring offense in the conference, netting 1.78 goals per match in CAA play.

 
Scouting Charleston Southern

• Charleston Southern enters Sunday's match with a 1-5 record. The Buccaneers' lone victory came in a 9-1 win against Columbia College on Aug. 22.
• CSU has dropped three straight since that victory, falling to Campbell, Furman and The Citadel. The Buccaneers are coming off a 3-1 loss at The Citadel on Thursday.
• Nine of Charleston Southern's 12 goals this season came in the win over Columbia College. Campbell Taylor, Danika Birch, Jillian Brown and Nina Meyer each scored twice in that match.
• Meyer leads a balanced CSU attack with five points on two goals and an assist. Taylor, Birch and Brown have also scored twice, while Delaney Evers, Rowyn Serne, Kelly Gende and Gianna Simon have one goal apiece.
• Simon scored Charleston Southern's lone goal Thursday at The Citadel, giving the senior her first goal since Sept. 5, 2024.
• Avery Mason has started each of CSU's last four matches in goal. The junior made four saves while playing all 90 minutes against The Citadel after recording five saves against Campbell and three against Furman.
• Charleston Southern is led by seventh-year head coach Jose Gomez. The Buccaneers reached the Big South Tournament last season and had six players earn all-conference recognition
