Coach’s Take: Steven is a good team leader and we expect him to lead by example again in the fall. His play continues to get better and better and we anticipate him being a key contributor in his final season.
2008: Started in all 20 matches on Elon’s SoCon championship team… named first-team all-conference and was recognized on the league’s all-tournament team after posting two assists in Elon’s 3-0 victory over Wofford in the SoCon Tournament… named to the 2008 North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association University Division All-State team… earned second-team NSCAA All-South Region recognition… recognized for excellence in the classroom as a first-team Scholar All-South Region honoree as well as a second-team University Division NSCAA/adidas Men’s College Scholar All-America team member… scored his lone goal of the season against William & Mary… honored as SoCon Student-Athlete of the Week. 2007: Earned first-team All-SoCon honors as well as second- team NSCAA All-South accolades and NCCSIA All-State honors… team MVP… was one of three Phoenix players to start all 19 contests… scored one goal, the game-winner in victory over High Point. 2006: Honored as the team’s top newcomer… was one of just three players to start all 20 contests… scored the first goal of his career in the season-opening victory over Stetson… knocked home the game-winner against Charlotte… named to the Davidson adidas Classic All-Tournament Team.
Prep: Helped the Concorde Fire to the 2005 Disney Showcase title as well as three Region III Premier League titles and a USYSA Regional finals appearance in 2006… a two-time team captain for Norcross High… named all-county and selected as his team’s offensive player of the year in 2005… Norcross captured a 7AAAAA region title during his time at the school.
